« The Grand Gala of the Italian Opera” that will be performed at the Roman Theater of Carthage as part of the 55th session of the International Festival of Carthage is a concert of great artistic quality that will offer to the audience of Carthage a selection of the greatest Italian musical works. It represents the fruit of a strategic partnership between the International Festival of Carthage and the Ente luglio Musicale Trapanese, which represents one of the most prestigious Italian operas. » said Mr. Mokhtar Rassaa, Director of the International Festival of Carthage in presence of M. Giovanni De Santis, Artistic Director of the Ente luglio Musicale Trapanese during the press conference held on Friday August 16. 2019 at the Media Center of the Roman Theater of Carthage to present the show scheduled for August 23. 2019 at 22:00 as part of the 55th edition of the festival.

« This concert is part of a large program of show that will take place in the various Roman theaters of the Mediterranean capitals in a process of celebration of this common archaeological heritage and as sign of consolidation of the dialogue between peoples and cultures » said M. Giovanni De Santis Artistic Director of the Ente Luglio Musicale Trapanese who emphasized the high quality of the show that will be performed on Friday August 23. 2019 at the Roman Theater of Carthage.

« The Grand Gala of the Italian Opera” is a journey through the masterpieces of symphonies, tunes and the choruses that made the history of the Italian opera.

Nabucco, Trovatore, The Barber of Seville, Cavalleria Rusticana, Carmen, La Traviata and Rigoletto will be performed during the show, in addition to the music of Bizet, Verdi, Puccini, Leoncavallo, Mascagni, Bellini, Rossini. On the stage, four international soloists, namely: Francesca Sassu, Sergio Vitale, Angelo Villari and Valeria Tornatore, with the Orchestra and Choir of Luglio Musicale Trapanese conducted by M. Andrea Certa who has already conducted the Opera of “Aida” in 2018 in El Jem and Carthage with M. Fabio Modica as directior of the choir.
